Greetings! Today we will go through the process of compressing a JPEG file on Mac. There are certain conditions that must be met before we can upload the necessary documentation. So let's compress this file so we can get it uploaded!

We're going to start by selecting the correct document. For the purposes of this article, we will use a picture of my dogs (Pablo and Trace).

First thing's first, we'll want to open the image in the 'Finder'.

Once we have it open. We are going to click 'File' at the top of the screen.

Then we will see a drop down menu. We're going to go ahead and hit 'Export...'.

Once we hit 'Export...', a new window is going to pop up. This window will allow us to shrink the file size. To do this, we will want to select the format 'JPEG'. We will then use the 'Quality' slider around the middle of the window. We will slide the slider until we see the image is the proper size.

Then we'll hit the save button to complete the process.

Now our documents are good to go! We'll now be able to upload them for the School District to see!
